Google AdWords Campaign
Bertschi-Café – Coffee Roasters
Google AdWords Campaign

Objective: To attract more visitors to the Bertschi Café website using web-specific measures. The main focus of the promotion was the online shop.

Solution: The first step was to optimize the site's html code for internet search engines like Google so that the site and online shop can now be found using relevant keywords like «Bio-Kaffee».
We analyzed the web sites of competitors and included the results in our advertising strategy. Google's Adwords image and copy ads is the prefect way to advertise on the Net and Adwords offers all the necessary tools to work on getting more clients as well as a higher turnover. On the Bertschi-Café website, visitor frequency doubled within just a few weeks.

Software User Interface Design
Bernafon AG
«OasisPlus» Fitting Software

Objective: To develop an attractive and user-friendly screen design and navigational system for a software used to program hearing aids. A significant part of the then current version of Oasis was reprogrammed at the same time.

Solution: A completely new user interface was developed following ideas suggested by Pixelmix in cooperation with the marketing department and the programmers from Software Development. The previous version had been developed according to purely technical criteria without taking ergonomics into consideration. Given that the marketing department of Bernafon had acknowledged the importance of ease of handling (products cannot be ordered without this software), this aspect was given priority. This led to the generation of a trend-setting solution for the entire industry.

Production time: 8 months (2002, Updates 2003-2008)
Interactive Prevention Program
elmex Forschung (GABA Schweiz), Aktion Zahnfreundlich
«Aktion SchulZahnBus»

Objective: Development of an entertaining program on prevention for high school student teenagers as an aid for school hygienists in both the French- and German-speaking parts of Switzerland. Accompanied by printed documentation. Used with touch screen monitors in the GABA information bus.

Solution: Objectives for the content were set together with project staff from elmex Research and Aktion Zahnfreundlich. We suggested a different approach for the various age groups: animations and cartoon-style elements for the younger children, photo-story style for older viewers. Pixelmix was responsible for managing the screen design, animation, programming and media production including a two-day photo shoot using amateur actors.

Webseite mit Fragebogenauswertung
State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (seco)
& Federation of Swiss Psychologists (FSP)

Study: Stress prevention at work

Objective: Seco and the FSP financed a study to find out about the demand and possibilities for an Internet information platform on stress prevention at work. Answering the questionnaire would help to shape the Internet site according to the requirements, wishes and ideas of the future target groups.

Solution: The content of the trilingual questionnaires was processed by the project team (representatives of seco, the FSP, ETH Zurich, the universities of Berne and Fribourg as well as the Swiss Association for work-oriented medicine) and implemented by Pixelmix in terms of visuals and programming. We were also responsible for uploading the site onto the server, entering the information in the databases anonymously, and providing regular evaluation updates in the form of Excel files. The use of only open source tools throughout was a major aspect of this project.

Web Based Training Program (WBT) & Game
Basler Versicherungen
«Personal liability insurance 1»

Objective: Development of a WBT program for employee training as well as a game for internal marketing training that would increase its acceptance with its target public.

Solution: The program should convey a fairly dry content. In order to provide a contrast, entertaining illustrations were created to represent in exaggerated form the situations that were described in the text. As additional encouragement, the user can transfer over into the game that is running in parallel. Players can then put their recently won energy points and aids in order to get ahead. For optimal compatibility, we created the WBT in HTML and JavaScript while the accompanying game was programmed and animated in Flash. Cookies controlled the scoring and evaluation.

Computer Based Training Programm
Swiss Bank Corporation/UBS
«Verkaufen – (k)ein Spiel»

Solution: The concept was worked out together with the client to provide an entertaining learning program with a psychological edge in which humorous animations and real learning situations would alternate and complement each other.
During the production phase, Pixelmix was responsible for the entire implementation of the visual side of the project. Task scenarios were developed first. Numerous cartoon animations were created in an authoring program. After that, five professional actors spent three days in front a blue screen in a Zurich TV studio. The various elements of the game locations were then created around them on computer in 2- and 3D. the packaging and accompanying material to the CD-ROM was based on the program art work and also developed by us.
